The Acjachemen Nation, commonly known as the Juaneno Band of Mission Indians, celebrates the inaugural Native American Heritage Day with an announcement of a nation-to-nation cooperation.
“This day we announce a new day. ANEW day! From this day forward we are persistent in our pursuit to battle the pollutants that sicken the gift we call ‘Mother Earth’. By way of ANEW, a joint venture between the A. N. Group, LLC & Waste-to-Energy Group, LLC, we are committed to initiatives of renewable fuels & waste to energy programs. Through a platform of cooperation with other Native American Tribes, ANEW will be steadfast in cleansing our planet of waste products while providing a clean renewable source of energy.
“The prosperity of America is built upon the idea of an unlimited supply of energy without harm to our planet. Today we know that fossil fuels are not unlimited nor are they without harm to our planet. ANEW is committed to utilizing various technologies in providing a new resource for more environmentally friendly electricity & bio-fuels.
“Inherent in all Native Americans as well as a significant part of spirituality is our stewardship of our planet and natural resources. For too long have we sat idly by while the future of our children is compromised.
“Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”
Indian-Proverb Cree
This calls for a Nation-to-Nation cooperation. Through synergy our collective goals can and will be realized.
“Only when the last tree is cut; only when the last river is polluted; only when the last fish is caught; only then will they realize that you cannot eat money.”
Indian-Proverb Cree
“We stand together, Native and Non-Native Americans, faced with a global crisis; pollution. We stand together with a solution; a new resource of energy. Harnessing the power of the sun through algae conversion, the power of municipal solid waste conversion and the power of scrap tire pyrolisis, we cleanse our environment while producing a clean source of electricity and bio-fuels. Then we rest easy with the knowledge that we have done our part to ensure the health of ‘Mother Earth’ for future generations.”
