Another NY School District Signs with Atlantic Energy Solutions for Energy Savings

Atlantic Energy Solutions, Inc. announcing that another Upstate New York Public School District is ready to begin its energy efficiency project. The school district has approved a guaranteed savings agreement with Atlantic Energy Solutions. The project scope, which has already been designed and in route to the State Education Department (SED) for review, calls for lighting upgrades, complete renovation of the mechanical room, including boiler replacements, providing for the first time high pressure utility gas service, upgrading digital controls and a complete weatherization package.

The total project worth is $680,000, generating a minimum of $37,779 in annual energy savings. The guaranteed savings are to cover all project payments and generate excess cashflow to the district’s budget. In addition, the district will realize 39% of the total project worth in State Building Aid paid over a period of 15 years. Furthermore, given the nature of Energy Performance Projects and Atlantic Energy Solutions’ approach, the district will take full advantage of any energy cost escalations in the form of future cost avoidance.

It is an excellent way for the school district to improve their school’s physical condition, achieve energy efficiency and cost savings, generate positive cash flow while acquiring high quality equipment and all with no impact to the tax payers. Another way the school district has proven proactive in dealing with the rising costs of energy and operations, while keeping the tax payer first.

The project is expected to receive SED approval and begin construction in the early spring of 2009. Adding to our portfolio, this energy efficiency project is expected to increase revenue for the company and shareholders in 2009.
