Brookside Storage LLC announced a nonbinding open season for storage services at its intrastate natural gas storage facility in Anderson County, Texas.
Brookside is currently constructing the first of two solution-mined salt caverns that will provide 10 Bcf each of working gas storage capacity which have been approved for construction and operation by the Railroad Commission of the State of Texas. The first cavern is projected to go into full commercial operation by April 1, 2011.
The nonbinding open season for the first 10 Bcf of working gas capacity will extend from Monday, January 19 at 8:00 AM CST through Monday, February 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM CST.
Brookside is strategically located only 1.6 miles from the Bethel Hub and will be directly interconnected with numerous intrastate pipelines and facilities, including: Atmos, Enterprise, Energy Transfer, Enbridge, Calpine and Pinnacle. The facility is designed for six turns-of-service featuring a 500,000 Dth/day withdrawal rate and 250,000 Dth/day injection rate and may be upgraded based on responses to the open season and market interest. Brookside is located near 12,000 MW of natural gas-fired power generation and the Barnett Shale, Bossier Trend and prolific East Texas/Haynesville Shale production areas surround the facility location.
