ENMAX Green Power Selects URS to Build Natural Gas-Fired Power Generating Facility

URS Corporation announced that it has been awarded a contract by ENMAX Green Power Inc. to provide engineering, procurement, construction, startup, testing and commissioning services for a new 120-megawatt simple-cycle power generation facility in Alberta, Canada. The natural gas-fired facility is located about 40 kilometers north of Calgary near the town of Crossfield, and it will supply peak demand electrical power to the Alberta transmission system. The contract has a maximum value of approximately $54 million to URS.

Customers throughout the region will benefit from the addition of this much needed new generation capacity to Alberta’s electrical system.”
