N-Viro International Corp. Forms Joint Venture to Operate N-Viro Fuel Facility in the Mahoning Valley in Ohio

N-Viro International Corp.,, an environmental and materials handling company that owns patented technologies that convert various types of wastes into the renewable biofuel N-Viro Fuel(TM), has formed a joint venture with SouthSide Environmental Group, a subsidiary of Schimley’s Excavating, Inc., to jointly construct, manage and operate an N-Viro Fuel facility in the Mahoning Valley, Ohio, (near Youngstown). This new facility will mark N-Viro’s second owned or operated facility in Ohio, and the third in total.

N-Viro International and SouthSide Environmental have identified several existing facilities in the Youngstown area in which they would be able to establish the anticipated operations. The focus is to, if possible, utilize an existing structure and install the necessary equipment to begin production of this biofuel as quickly as possible. The joint venture has also been in discussions with officials in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. N-Viro hopes to finalize the site selection process within the next three months. Once the joint venture secures the required permits from the Ohio EPA, it will begin converting the selected building into an N-Viro Fuel facility, a process that the company expects will take approximately six months, and to be operational immediately following that timeframe. Funding for the project is expected to come from various public/private financing options and/or private sources.

Initially, the company expects to be able to convert 200-250 tons of wastewater biosolids into biofuel daily, and will have the capacity to convert up to 500 tons per day, thereby increasing its current corporate capacity by more than thirty-three percent. N-Viro International recently announced that its Daytona Beach operation has ramped up to approximately 350 tons of biosolids a day, with the capacity to reach nearly 750 tons for the facility. It also recently extended its memorandum of understanding with Michigan State University to enter into a long-term arrangement for the design, construction and operation of an N-Viro Fuel facility at the University.

Mr. Kasmoch continued, “This area of Ohio opens up new markets to us. We have already been in discussions with municipalities in the northeastern area of the state, as well as with many in western Pennsylvania. Our discussions indicate there is large demand for N-Viro Fuel, and this new facility will dramatically expand our footprint and our production. Once it is up and running, we expect this facility to be profitable immediately.”
