OriginOil Invited to Present at Next Generation Biofuels Markets Conference in Amsterdam

Tuesday, August 12th 2008

OriginOil, Inc., the developer of a breakthrough technology to transform algae, the most promising source of renewable oil, into a true competitor to petroleum, announced today it will present at the Next Generation Biofuels Markets conference on October 8, 2008, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

“The Biofuels Markets World Series brings together major industry players in alternative energy,” said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginOil’s CEO. “We’re honored to have been invited to speak.”

Mr. Eckelberry will join Dr. Al Darzins, group manager at the United States Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), as well as executives from other algae technology companies, as a featured speaker at a specially-convened ‘Algae for Advanced Biofuels’ Seminar Day on October 8th.

According to the conference organizers, “This in-depth one day seminar will examine how quickly algae is emerging as a sustainable, viable, low cost feedstock for the biofuels industry. A variety of key players will share their knowledge and understanding of this rapidly evolving market.”

Mr. Eckelberry will serve on the panel on “Overcoming the Technological Challenges.” Agenda points will include: manufacturing consistent quality fuel, finding new methods of getting past ‘shade wall,’ and the latest technological developments.

This speaking appearance by CEO Riggs Eckelberry will represent OriginOil’s second public discussion of technology challenges and solutions surrounding the algae-to-oil industry, following a well-received presentation on July 17, 2008, at the National Algae Association’s quarterly forum in Houston, Texas.

About OriginOil, Inc.

OriginOil, Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology that will transform algae, the most promising source of renewable oil, into a true competitor to petroleum. Much of the world’s oil and gas is made up of ancient algae deposits. Today, our technology will produce “new oil” from algae, through a cost-effective, high-speed manufacturing process. This endless supply of new oil can be used for many products such as diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, plastics and solvents without the global warming effects of petroleum. Other oil producing feedstock such as corn and sugarcane often destroy vital farmlands and rainforests, disrupt global food supplies and create new environmental problems. Our unique technology, based on algae, is targeted at fundamentally changing our source of oil without disrupting the environment or food supplies.
