Proserv Renames Recently Acquired Twachtman Snyder & Byrd and Circle Technical Services

Friday, August 15th 2008

Proserv Offshore LLC announced that Twachtman Snyder & Byrd (TSB) has changed its name to Proserv Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers Inc. and Proserv Abandonment Services, and Circle Technical Services has changed to Proserv Marine and Subsea Technology.

All three represent business units within the Abandonment & Decommissioning strategic business unit of Proserv Offshore LLC, which acquired TSB in 2007 and Circle in early 2008. “Our goal is to become the unrivalled, international leader in the abandonment and decommissioning of onshore and offshore facilities, and the global underwater and offshore maintenance industry. Aligning each company’s name with its service package was an important step in the process,” said Robert Finch, vice president of Proserv Offshore.

The management team, employees and services will be unaffected by the name change, said Finch. “We will continue business as usual to bring our customers the best solutions in the industries we serve.”

“Merging our resources, capabilities and expertise with Proserv has enabled us to provide greater efficiency and innovation in meeting our customers’ increasingly complex needs in the well abandonment and decommissioning industry. We want our name to reflect those strengths,” said Ron Twachtman, president of Proserv Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers Inc. and formerly president of TSB.

“Customers will also continue to benefit from the global reach, innovative techniques and product development capabilities that have sprung from the merger,” said Twachtman.

“Last year, Circle successfully cut 52 structures at 38 sites for clients ranging from Gulf of Mexico (GoM) operators to barge contractors. There is great opportunity in the GoM and U.S. Gulf Coast. Changing Circle’s name to better reflect our service portfolio helps us communicate and add to our resource package so we can take advantage of the potential,” said Van Zeringue, Proserv Marine and Subsea Technology’s senior vice president in the U.S.

Based in Houston with field operations in Houma, La., Proserv Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers Inc. and Proserv Abandonment Services is also relocating its Houston offices to a different suite number at the same address, Twachtman said. Proserv Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers Inc. and Proserv Abandonment Services have already moved into the new offices at 13105 Northwest Freeway, Suite 250, in Houston. The Houma facility will not move.

As Twachtman Snyder & Byrd, the company established a strong reputation in the abandonment and decommissioning market. Proserv Decommissioning Contractors & Engineers Inc. and Proserv Abandonment Services draw on these extensive service capabilities in project management, contracting, consulting, and a host of related services. These range from assessing liability, acquisition and divestiture, and plugging the well to clearing the site and developing an artificial reef.

Its key managers include Robert Byrd, senior vice president, consulting; Doug Keathley, vice president of sales; and Jerry Gilmore, vice president, contracting.

Proserv Subsea Marine and Technology, based in Houma, La., serves the worldwide underwater and offshore maintenance industry within its niche technology market. The company produces a range of underwater tools for projects such as decommissioning, inspection, repair and maintenance. Its flexible, reactive solutions include water-abrasive cold cutting, coating removal, cleaning, seabed dredging and friction welding applications.

Its key managers are Van Zeringue, senior vice president, and Richard Burgo, sales and marketing.
