PECO Begins Second Round of Bidding for Renewable Energy Credits

For the second time in 2008, PECO is inviting renewable energy producers to submit bids to sell alternative energy “credits” to help the company fulfill the requirements of Pennsylvania’s Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards (AEPS) legislation. BP Announces Full Commercial Operation of Wind Farm in Texas

BP Wind Energy announced full commercial operation of phase I of the Sherbino Wind Farm in Pecos County, west Texas. The first 150 megawatts (MW) of the project, which has a potential capacity of 750 MW, has been built through a 50-50 joint venture agreement with Padoma Wind Power LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy, Inc. PECO to Lower Gas Rate by 5%, Effective Sept. 1

PECO will lower its natural gas rate, effective Sept. 1, due to a projected decrease in gas supply costs in the wholesale market. The bills for the typical residential customer will drop by 5.1 percent, or about $7 a month. PECO can adjust the “purchased gas cost” portion of its gas rate each quarter, if necessary, to reflect changes in the commodity market prices. Pantera Petroleum, Inc. announces that its Sibley 84 #1 well in the West Gomez Field has entered production and has begun selling natural gas to Western Gas Resources, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (APC – News).
