SonnenEnergy Corp., a leading photovoltaic solar power systems integrator and solar power producer, is pleased to announce that V. James Sardo has been named Chairman of the SonnenEnergy Board of Directors. Mr. Sardo succeeds Jeff Dennis, who will continue as director of SonnenEnergy and in his role as SonnenEnergy’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Sardo is a corporate director and was interim CEO of Royal Group Technologies Limited from 2004 to 2005, President of the Canadian Operations of Moore Corporation Limited, a business forms and communications company, from 1999 to 2001 and President and CEO of SMK Speedy International Inc., an international automotive repair company, from 1997 to 1999. Prior to 1997 Mr. Sardo was Chief Executive Officer of Amre Inc., a Dallas based marketer of home improvement products from 1994 to 1995 and Chief Executive Officer of SNE Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of windows and doors from 1991 to 1994. Mr. Sardo is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a graduate of the Directors Education Program. Mr. Sardo has been a director of SonnenEnergy since 2007 and is also a director of New Flyer Inc., Hydrogenics Corporation and Northstar Healthcare Inc.
SonnenEnergy also announces that it has granted additional incentive stock options to its officers and directors to acquire an aggregate of 1,500,000 common shares of SonnenEnergy at a price of $0.10 per share; each option is exercisable at any time until October 27, 2013 subject to certain vesting requirements.
