Valerus Compression Services Opens Office in Argentina

Valerus Compression Services, a worldwide leader in natural gas handling services specializing in natural gas processing, treating and compression, has opened an office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to better serve the growing natural gas market in South America.

The new office will support Valerus’ growing customer base in the Latin America region by providing a full range of natural gas compression, production and treating products and services.

“Valerus has had a business presence in Latin America since our company’s inception in 2002,” said Chet Erwin, co-CEO, Valerus. “Our global operations continue to expand, and the Latin American market is clearly an important part of our growth, accounting for about 60 percent of our international business.”

In September, Valerus further expanded its global business with the opening of an office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Natural gas represents more than half the total energy consumption in Argentina, creating a large demand for services related to natural gas.

“Argentina has a very mature natural gas distribution system and has been producing natural gas for decades,” Erwin said. “This has provided us with an opportunity to meet the country’s very specific compression needs, and our presence in Argentina will provide expertise from a worldwide leader in natural gas handling services.”
