Worldwide Energy and Manufacturing Announces $13.7 Million in New Solar Module Contracts

Worldwide Energy and Manufacturing USA, Inc., a U.S.-based China manufacturing company specializing in products for customers in the industries of solar energy, aerospace, wireless telecommunications, medical equipment and automotive, today announced that its solar division, AmeriSolar, has signed two new solar module contracts in November valued at approximately US$13.7 million. These orders demonstrate Worldwide’s continued successful implementation into the renewable energy market.

The German Advisory Council on Global Change expects 80% of global energy to be generated from renewable sources by 2100. According to Solarbuzz, world solar cell production reached 3,436 megawatts (MW) in 2007, up from 2,204 MW in 2006; and, in 2007, the PV industry generated $17.2 billion in global revenues.

Jimmy Wang, CEO, added, “The clean-tech industry is more recession-proof than others. In fact, Deutsche Bank is predicting a growth rate of 20% for the global solar industry in 2009.
